VIDA is as much a resource for globally–minded volunteers as it is a resource and source of support to other ngo’s operating in Central America. Our commitment to the people and communities in Central America includes working collaboratively with all other organizations to help improve the quality of life for those in need. Prince of Peace Evangelical Church

Pastor Candido Escobar Paraiso de Cartago, Costa Rica

The Prince of Peace Evangelical Church is a small church without much of any financial support. They offer refuge to community members living in a poor marginal barrio in Paraiso de Cartago. The Pastor and his wife live in the small quarters on the church premises with their young daughter. They are seeking assistance/resources to complete a new metal roof. The current roof is very old, leaky, and haphazardly put together out of rusted pieces of tin. Thanks to a wonderful group of volunteers from Wisconsin they have 2 new cement walls for their home as of 2006, prior to that the walls were made out of a cardboard like material. If you would like to volunteer for this project or make a contribution to the Pastor and his wife, please contact VIDA staff.
